Hey there, beautiful! If you’re reading this, chances are you’re on a journey to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love, and I’m so excited to share some techniques that are working for me.
For the past few months, I've been saying I had 10 pounds to lose when in reality I had 14 so when I finally hit the 9-pound mark, I rejoiced!
Let me tell you, losing the last 10 pounds with self-love can be challenging. I mean, why won't these numbers move on the scale? Haha, but it's also an opportunity to nurture a healthy relationship with your body and develop habits that honor and support it.
I wanted to share my techniques especially since I have been in menopause for the past 3 years.
One of the techniques I use to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love is intermittent fasting.
It’s simple and effective, and the best part is that it doesn’t feel restrictive when you approach it with a self-love mindset.
During my eating window, I enjoy my meals fully and nourish my body with love.
According to Hopkins Medicine, intermittent fasting focuses on when you eat versus what you eat.
Adding protein to my morning smoothie has been such a game-changer! It’s a perfect way to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love by starting my day with fuel that satisfies me.
A protein boost keeps me full and helps my muscles recover, giving my body the love it deserves right from the start.
I use Orgain protein powder which provides a nice flavor to my smoothie along with coconut water.
Weight training with dumbells and kettlebells is another essential for me on my journey to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love.
It’s not just about physical strength but about feeling powerful and capable.
Lifting weights supports metabolism, shapes your body, and boosts confidence, reminding you of the beauty of a strong body.
Calorie counting is useful, but I use it as a gentle tool in my journey to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love.
By being aware without being obsessed, I can understand my body’s needs and make choices that align with my goals. It’s a subtle reminder to treat my body with kindness and avoid guilt or pressure.
I love using the app Lose It, which has been very helpful. It even links to my Apple watch.
Incorporating movement is key to my goal of losing the last 10 pounds with self-love.
I aim for at least 7,000 steps daily but do it in a way that doesn’t feel like a chore—dancing, walking outside, and taking breaks to stretch.
Moving with joy keeps me feeling vibrant, an act of self-love that strengthens my body and spirit.
I will even dance in my normal clothes which gives the club vibe but in the comforts of my home. It's about changing it up and not having any rules attached to my journey.
If something feels right to you, then proceed with no attachment to rules.
Bodyweight exercises help me stay strong and flexible on my journey to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love.
From squats and lunges to planks and push-ups, these exercises allow me to work out whenever - while watching TV, or even during brushing my teeth..
Bodyweight training adds consistency to my routine and reminds me of my strength.
Being mindful of my snacking is a part of my self-love routine to lose the last 10 pounds.
By choosing meals that keep me full longer, I can limit mindless snacking. When I do snack, I reach for whole, nourishing foods like nuts that fuel me, making it easier to stay on track.
Drinking water is essential in my journey to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love. When I’m hydrated, I have stable energy and fewer cravings, which helps me feel my best.
Adding lemon or cucumber is a spa-inspired twist that turns this simple act of hydration into a loving ritual.
I sometimes go even further and make a pitcher of water with infused fruit for the week. It's such a nice treat for the week.
Sleep is vital to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love. When I prioritize rest, I make better choices throughout the day, feel more focused, and have the energy for movement.
Seven to nine hours of sleep is something that I continue to work on and I must say I am getting better. It's all about progress.
I continue to work on giving my body enough rest, knowing it’s one of the most loving acts of self-care.
Learning to let go of the scale has been empowering. Checking my weight occasionally is a small part of my journey to lose the last 10 pounds with self-love.
By focusing on how I feel, my energy, and how my clothes fit, I’m able to see progress in ways that a number can’t reflect.
True self-love means honoring each step as a win.
To wrap it all up, here are a few extra tips that help me stay grounded as I lose the last 10 pounds with self-love:
Losing the last 10 pounds doesn’t have to feel like a struggle. When you approach it as a journey of self-discovery and appreciation, each habit becomes a foundation of love, resilience, and confidence that will carry you forward.
Embrace each step, enjoy the process, and treat yourself with the love and kindness you deserve.
Also, remember there's no cookie-cutter method and these are only suggestions. It's all about finding what works for you on your journey.
