Hey beautiful,
Let’s talk about one of my favorite phases of the moon: the new moon. There’s something so magical about the sky going dark, like the universe itself is hitting the reset button.
Did you know that this is a powerful time for setting new intentions on a new moon? It’s a cosmic invitation to start fresh, dream big, and plant seeds for the life you want to manifest. Yess Queen yes!
Whether you’re looking to clear old energy, bring in abundance, or simply feel more aligned, this phase is the perfect moment to pause, reflect, and create a new chapter.
So, grab a cozy blanket, light a candle, and let’s dive into how the new moon symbolizes new beginnings and how you can make the most of its beautiful energy.
The new moon represents the start of a lunar cycle. Just as the moon starts anew, so can you beautiful. It’s like a blank canvas, ready for your dreams, goals, and desires to be painted onto it. This phase is all about going within and clarity—looking inward to decide what you want to call into your life.
When you align with the energy of the new moon, you’re giving yourself permission to let go of the past and focus on creating the future.
Think of it as a monthly check-in with your soul. And honestly, what’s more exciting than knowing you have a fresh slate to work with?
Now that we know the new moon is the ultimate fresh start let’s talk about how to set intentions.
Setting new intentions on a new moon isn’t just about writing down your goals; it’s about infusing them with meaning and energy. And it's about being intentional! Taking ACTION!
Here’s how you can do it:
Sit down with your journal and reflect on what you truly desire. What’s calling to your heart right now?
Whether it’s love, a new job, or a healthier lifestyle, be specific.
I am a firm believer in writing things down. There’s magic in putting pen to paper. Write your intentions as if they’ve already happened. I do this all of the time and over time, it works!
For example, instead of saying, “I want to find a new job,” say, “I am thriving in a career I love.” Or instead of saying, "I am trying to live healthier: say I am making healthy choices every day.
Close your eyes and imagine your life with your intention fulfilled. How does it feel? What does it look like? Feel the joy, gratitude, and excitement as if it’s already yours.
Light a candle, hold your favorite crystal, or simply sit in a quiet space.
Speak your intentions out loud, sending them into the universe with confidence and love.
And remember to speak them as though they have already happened.
Trust that the universe has your back. You don’t need to obsess over how your intentions will come to life; just take inspired action and believe.
I have learned to do this more often. I've found that the more I try to control things, the less things will happen. But many amazing things would happen when I learned to let go and let God - simply allow the Universe to work its beautiful magic.
Before setting new intentions on the new moon, it’s important to clear old energy. Think of it like decluttering your mind, heart, and soul to make room for the new.
Here are a few ways to do that:
Your environment reflects your energy. Take some time to tidy up, donate old items, or reorganize your space.
Fill your tub with warm water, Epsom salts, and a few drops of lavender or eucalyptus oil.
Imagine the water washing away any negativity or stagnant energy.
Put your favorite crystals on the side and light some candles as well. Taking a Goddess bath is one of my favorite self-care things to do for myself. It's such a joy.
Use sage, palo santo, or incense to cleanse the energy of your home. Walk through each room, setting the intention for fresh, positive vibes.
I love to use sage spray that I purchase from the local all things crystal shop near me, but if you don't have a shop nearby, you can also make a spray from the leftover moon water from the last full moon. 🌕
Journal about anything that’s been weighing you down. Write it all out, and then (safely) burn the paper as a symbolic release.
Shift your energy by focusing on what you’re thankful for. Gratitude opens the door to abundance and new opportunities..
The new moon is a gentle reminder that every ending is also a beginning. By setting new intentions on a new moon, you’re aligning with the natural rhythms of the universe and giving yourself permission to dream big.
Take this time to clear your energy, connect with your heart, and visualize the life you want to create. Remember, you’re the author of your story, and the new moon is the perfect time to start writing your next chapter.
